TEAM of seven to investigate claims that MDC Alliance President Chamisa rigged Bulawayo congress polls to ensure Ndebele candidates lost.

SEVEN MEMBER TEAM DISPATCHED TO INVESTIGATE CLAIMS THAT MDC ALLIANCE PRESIDENT NELSON CHAMISA rigged Bulawayo congress polls to ensure Ndebele candidates lost.
MDC held a provincial congress on 17 April 2019 in the run up to the MDC national congress to be held in May 2019.
In a highly skewed political climate in Zimbabwe, where Nelson Chamisa has constantly claimed that Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson Mnangagwa is an illegitimate president after allegedly stealing the people’s vote, Chamisa himself is now caught up in similar controversy of manipulating votes.
There are 12 candidates who lost; namely Dingilizwe Tshuma, Edwin Ndlovu, Phelela Masuku, Edious Shumba, Charles Moyo, Percy Tapela, Mr Mbuso Siso, Samuel Munsaka, Thamu Ncube, Ms Sinikiwe Mutanda, Ms Jasmine Toffa and Ms Stella Ndlovu who all indicate that the MDC investigation is a sham designed to present an allegedly transparent Chamisa publicly, yet Chamisa has actually handpicked the seven people to investigate the MDC scam in Bulawayo in whose outcome of investigation Chamisa will already have the final say. as the handpicked henchmen will do his bidding according to the disgruntled losing candidates.
The Bulawayo elections were meant to nominate candidates for the national positions in the MDC Alliance that would be decided in the national congress.
Makokoba Member of Parliament Mr James Sithole won the provincial chairman’s post.
The 12 wrote a letter to the MDC party’s national executive alleging that Nelson Chamisa and the MDC’s organising secretary Mr Amos Chibaya manipulated the elections to ensure that they lost, through holding polls under undemocratic conditions, against the MDC’s constitution, hence they demanded the nullification of the Bulawayo MDC provincial congress results.
“Chamisa and Chibaya ensured their preferred candidates who do not originate from this region won. In districts like Mpopoma, Emakhandeni and Cowdray Park, where they failed to influence the voting, they made sure elections did not take place. In other districts, elections that were supposed to start at 10 am started more than 14 hours later after midnight when most voters who did not support their candidates had given up. Those who are in their camp appeared to have been tipped beforehand and stuck around,” said one of the candidates.
“In some districts, bouncers barred those perceived to be against Chamisa from casting their votes. Less than half of the people who were eligible to vote were able to do so. It’s clear there was massive rigging sponsored by president Chamisa. Such things will affect the party’s chances of winning anything in Bulawayo at national elections against other parties.”
MDC Alliance national spokesperson Jacob Mafume said the result of the investigation by the seven member team led by Harare senator Mr Morgan Femai would be ready by Saturday.
He said the result would not affect the national congress.Femai said the final outcome of the investigation lay with the national executive.
“By Friday everything will be surrendered to the President. As you know we only do recommendations. I can’t say much about the case at the moment, It’s a party issue directed by the highest office, the national executive,” said Femai.
In continuing controversy over MDC leadership which was illegitimately taken over by Nelson Chamisa after the death of MDC founder and leader Richard Tsvangirai, the Zimbabwe through a High Court judge ruled a few minutes ago today, on Wednesday that Advocate Nelson Chamisa is not the legitimate leader of the MDC. It is interesting that now the loudest voice against Mnangagwa’s illegitimacy, has been declared by High court to be illegitimate himself, what acircus we have in Zimbabwe!
The Judge ruled also that the MDC party must hold an extraordinary congress within a month using 2014 structures and that the MDC vice-presidential appointments made by late party leader Richard Morgan Tsvangirai are null and void. The court has ordered theMDC party to convene an extraordinary congress within a month of this ruling.
Analysts say , “Importantly, what this judgement says is that by using 2014 structures, Chamisa wasn’t Vice President of MDC, meaning that Thokozani Khupe is the leader of the MDC.”
The High Court nullification of the appointment of MDC-T national executive members Nelson Chamisa and Engineer Elias Mudzuri as MDC-T party co-vice presidents three years ago, was triggered by an application by theMDC party’s Gokwe district organising secretary Elias Mashavire who challenged the then MDC T leader the late Richard Morgan Tsvangirai to unilaterally hand-pick his “blue-eyed boys” to succeed him.
High court Judge Justice Edith Mushore determined today that all the decisions made under MDC Nelson Chamisa administration are null and void, adding that Chamisa cannot preside over MDC party matters. More details to follow..Sibusiso Ngwenya.Source – Byo24
