Eight Feared Dead In Serious, Two Kombis Head On Collision Along Harare-Mutare Highway
EIGHT people are reported to have lost their lives in a head-on collision involving two commuter omnibuses along the Harare-Mutare highway.
Sources told NewZimbabwe.com that children were among the dead.
“It happened just after Macheke along the Harare-Mutare highway. It looked really bad with several bodies strewn all over the roadside,” said an eyewitness.
Another source said he had lost a brother in the accident.
Mashonaland East police spokesperson identified only as Muzondo could not be reached for comment as his mobile phone went unanswered.
The Heroes holiday normally brings with it bloody road crashes, despite spirited campaigns and pleas for drivers to exercise caution by both government and civil society activists.
