Mugabe’s Zanu PF Regime Issues March 2016, Economic Empowerment Plans Submission Deadline

.

Although the original deadline for Zimbabwe’s foreign owned companies to submit their Economic Empowerment plans, was January 2014, the now desperately broke Zanu PF Regime has Issued another Ultimatum, calling for Foreign Firms To Meet a new deadline of March 2016 Empowerment Plans Submission.

Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime has stepped up its campaign for Zimbabwe’s foreign owned companies which operate in the country, including mines and banks to comply with a law requiring them to sell at least 51 percent shares to local companies by submitting Empowerment Plans by a March 2016.

This was announced by imbabwe’s finance minister Patrick Chinamasa on Christmas eve. In 2008, the despot led Zanu PF regime passed the Economic Empowerment Act brought in as part of President Robert Mugabe’s controversial black empowerment policies.

As expected internationally, the plan may look good on paper to some but its implementation is another story. Foreign investment has been very subdued as foreign business owners raised red flags, warning that the Economic Empowerment would come in the way of the highly needed foreign investment in the Republic of Zimbabwe.

In Zimbabwe, the banking groups Standard Chartered Plc and Barclays Plc along with the world’s two largest platinum producers, Anglo American Platinum and Impala Platinum are some of the largest
foreign-owned businesses operating in the country

Although, on paper, the Economic Empowerment plans are saud to be designed to give locals greater share and control of local resources, the Minister of Finance, Patrick Chinamasa claimed that Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime was not seeking a majority share hold over the businesses in mining, as , already the despot led regime’s contribution in the deal is brought in through the government’s contribution of the ownership of underground resources which the state owns.

The Finance Minister declared that ,Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime will stop any new foreign investors from investing in reserved sectors of the economy which include crop agriculture, fuel retail, wholesale trade, cigarette manufacture, retail.

He added that exemptions can be made under specific special circumstances which call for Cabinet approval before they are passed by parliarment.

To the discerning eye, this, because of the culture of impunity,in the long run, this Economic Empowerment exercise will benefit only the filthy rich multi millionaire criminal caucus made up of Mugabe, Zim1 family, Zanu PF regime and securocrats who monopolise wealth and power and now seek ways of laundering their dirty money by circulating it back into the regular economy. in the long run, whether Zanu PF is still in power or another regime will be in charge, will not matter as the original source of the criminal proceeds would have been forgotten about and they will be key players in business, the economy and employment, thereby considered an integral part of the future. this is the best way of silencing all activists, opposition and people who may be well clued up to how those riches were built up originally.

Zimbabwe needs to re establish the Rule of Law and hunt down every penny of all criminal proceeds both in Zimbabwe and across the globe hidden in offshore accounts, friends and family business and personal accounts and re invest the funds back into government coffers for the benefit of the people of Zimbabwe. we cannot have a future where those directly responsible for the almost 16 years so far, suffering of the people of Zimbabwe.

No matter how long it takes, the criminals must face justice and be stripped of all criminal proceeds. Nobody should be allowed to benefit from crime. The people of Zimbabwe must recognise that we differ in race, colour, tribe, religion, creed and political orientation but we all face a common devil in the fight for equal opportunities, peace, justice, democray and prosperity for all.

The common evil is Mugabe and his Zanu PF who continuously loot national wealth and resources by monopolising wealth and power and forcing destitution upon everyone else. Zimbabwe’s unemployment has sky rocketed to 90%, people are homeless, starving, have no service delivery in electricity, water, education and roads., yet whilst they suffer continuously, Mugabe flew out of the country on Wednesday to enjoy a bright and lavish Christmas in the East, in typical evidence of the old adage that , ‘we are all equal but some animals are more equal than others!’…need I say more?

Lets unite and reclaim the motherland from this evil regime. The best way forward and ensuring that this is achieved and normalcy is enforced, is the removal of the despot Mugabe and his Zanu PF. Mugabe and all his Zanu PF should have no part in the future of the motherland. Mugabe and all his Zanu PF must go!, By Sibusiso Ngwenya
