Two children were injured and four classroom blocks destroyed when gusty winds hit Mbeure Primary School in Chipinge, blowing off roofs and shattering windows.
School headmaster, Caleb Sithole said the children were injured, as they tried to flee the damaged classrooms and sustained deep cuts on the head and hands.
He said the injured pupils were rushed to nearby Rimbi Clinic where they were treated and discharged the following day.

“The wind destroyed 112 asbestos, 30 purlins and 29 ridges as it swept a four-classroom block donated by Solon Foundation,” he said.
Sithole said the incident came at a time when the school was using meagre resources to construct two new classrooms blocks.
A school alumni, William Mahlonga, appealed to well-wishers to assist in repairing the damages.by Fidelis Mhlanga. source-newsday
