AN ALPHA MEDIA HOLDINGS (AMH) NEWSPAPER VENDOR, Zephaniah Nhamo (64) is one of the victims of police shootings, after he was fatally shot by the police as they tried to disperse the furious vendors and kombi crews advancing towards the Harare Central Police station.
 
The police shooting resulted in the deaths of two people on the spot , while four others were seriously injured. The protest caused damage to property worth thousands of dollars from afternoon till evening.
 
The public are furious at this reckless discharge of a Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer without due care to human life.
 
The deceased Nhamo is survived by his wife, four children and two grandchildren.
 
This issue of trigger happy cops is of great concern to the public, as on Saturday the 10 th of February 2018, a group of Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) soldiers , cordoned and shut down Gweru Police Station as they protested over the shooting and arrest of a fellow soldier.
This altercation arose after two police detectives tried to arrest a non-uniformed soldier for allegedly smoking mbanje/weed/dagga at a local bus terminus. The soldier probably aware of the bad blood between cops and soldiers from Operation Restore Order, resisted arrest and fled to a nearby army bus. One of the trigger happy ZRP detectives shot him in the leg.
The bus load of soldiers drove to Gweru Central Police Station, where thesoldiers stormed the station and demanded that the offending police detectives should be disarmed and detained.
Recently a Gweru based Soldier Carlos Chapeyama (23) shot and killed three of his own family members with an AK47, namely his wife Ashley Phiri (21) and her two sisters Nkosivumile Ncube (16) and Rita Nkomo (23) before shooting and seriously injuring Tlowi Chapeyama his 18 month old baby, in New Magwegwe before turning the gun on himself.

Simbarashe Karonga fatally shot his wife Nomatter Munetsi in the head with an AK47 rifle at close range in a domestic dispute.
The People’s Rainbow Coalition headed by the fired former president Dr JTR Mujuru has strongly condemned the Police brutality and murder of two innocent civillians along with critically injuring four others, sayoing this demonstrates that Zimbabweans are living in a Police state.
 
Dr JTR Mujuru, is someone who knows the workings of the brutal Zanu pf as she is a liberation war fighter and her husband led the Zanla forces in the liberation struggle as mugabe’s right hand man, becoming a post independance General heading the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA).
 
The People’s Rainbow Coalition therefore says Zimbabwe must never turn into Somali state style, governed by the law of the jungle or survival of the fittest.
 
The coalition said the Commissioner General of police apportioning blame on the unarmed civilians is totally despeakable because the same police and misguided Harare city leaders that instigated the protest because of their misguided decision to ban kombi commuter buses from the CBD.
 
The coalition argues that this effectively raised transport costs, lengthened journey times, and piled on suffering upon the masses in its president Emmerson Mnangagwa’s first 100 days of his military administration, which has only managed to only deliver dead bodies of innocent civilians and create dangerous life threatening living conditions for the innocent public.
 
The PRC further demanded that the police officers responsible for the shootings whould be brought to account as nobody is above the law, adding that president Emmerson Mnangagwa must institute an independent commission of enquiry into these killings by the security.
All these things occured in Mnangagwa’s first 100 days in office, where at this rate of trigger happy security forces shooting civillians, we are clearly headed for trouble,..case in point, never before did we experience such shootings by the security, under the ruthless Mugabe. Now we have his clone, a man who says Mugabe is a father to him, his mentor and one who he will seek advice from, actually running government and directly responsible for ending this trigger happy mentality by Zimbabwe’s security.
 
The Heal Zimbabwe Trust has also waded in the unprecedented level of condemnation of wanto police brutality against innocent civilians, through typical police brutality, a sad act of barbarism by law enforcers. To Heal Zimbabwe Trust this clearly indicates that the people of Zimbabwe are not safe from the gun totting police who by right should protect them but instead are doing the opposite through killing civillians.
The people of Zimbabwe are the real victims of this craze. You’ve been informed and it is up to you as an informed electorate to speak out by putting your X where it matters the most. Let your vote determine your future and welfare,..vote wisely! The public are in danger from security members whether cops or soldiers who reclessly discharge fire arms in public, at atime when the nation is not even at war, we are now living in fear of the very people who should protect us on a daily basis, courtesy of the’ilegitimate’ Mnangagwa, Zanu pf stalwarts and securocrats regime.
