Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) officially suspended Commissioner General Gershem Pasi without pay on Friday

ZIMRA COMMISSIONER GENERAL GERSHEM PASI was officially suspended without pay by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) on Friday. The Zimra official is expected to appear before a disciplinary hearing to answer to at least 40 charges of misconduct going as far back as 2009 which include scandalous vehicle imports, allocating himself vehicle allowances of over US $374,000, in one year alonh with ridiculously excessive holiday allowances and an a wage over US $121 000 per year amongst others.

 

Zimbabwe Revenue Authority Commissioner-General Gershem Pasi stands accused of flouting the Zimra tender regulations by authorising a US$14 million contract by with AVIC International for the supply of uniforms and tollgate equipment without going through the formal tender procedures.
 
General Gershem Pasi is also accused of failure to conduct investigations into fraudulent vehicle imports by Zimra staff and allowing his daughter to use a Zimra vehicle, while also authorising salary increments without the Zimra board’s authoriy.
 
Pasi was instructed to handover all Zimra official vehicles and any other Zimra assets that he holds in his possession. Pasi is also accused of illegaly withdrawing US$205 000 from Zimra between 2014 and May 2016.
