Military Helicopters Deployed To Quell Beitbridge Protests, Residents Forced To Clean Up
Yesterday, angry Beitbridge residents rose up in absolute defiance to Mugabe’s Zanu PF oppressive authority by holding an impromptu protest, barricading roads with car wrecks and boulders and burning tyres.
However, Mugabe’s Zanu PF government, deployed military helicopters and heavily armed police and army details, today , who ,reportedly had the last laugh, as numerous Beitbridge residents irrespective of whether they participated or not in the protests, were forced to embark on a clean up operation of the town. Beitbridge was today, reportedly calm, after yesterday’s protests. By Sibusiso Ngwenya
