9 INCLUDING WOZA leader Jenni Williams, arrested at Bulawayo Queens Sports Club , New Zealand cricket match

Police in Bulawayo arrested the prominent coloured lady, Jenni Williams the WOZA leader along with suspected protesters at  Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo at a cricket match between Zimbabwe and New Zealand.
The  Human Rights Activist, Jenni Williams, is the  daughter of an Irish dad and Zimbabwean mother Bahlezi Moyo  is  typically accustomed to Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe’s oppressive police force, having been arrested at least 33 times by the year 2008 for her defiance to Mugabe Zanu PF regime through WOZA.
 
According to the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights(ZLHR), police said the arrests where “preventive” measures during Zimbabwe and New Zealand cricket match at Queens Sports Club.
The nine WOZA members were taken to Nkulumane Police Station but the prominent WOZA leader Jenni Williams isheld in detention  at Donnington police station in  Bulawayo.
 
Police allege that the detainees, several of whom were dressed in graduation gowns and caps, planned  to hold protests at the international cricket match between  Zimbabwe and New Zealand.  By Sibusiso Ngwenya. More news to follow
