A GWERU man has been sentenced to hanging for walking twenty kilometres to his wife’s family home and fatally stabbing her 27 times
A GWERU man has been sentenced to hanging for walking twenty kilometres to his wife’s family home and fatally stabbing her 27 times
The culprit, Dignity Masvimbo, who lives at Winery compound in Greenvale Gweru, actually walked for twenty miles from Gweru to his inlaws home.
Dignity (26) on arrival at his inlaws place went in through an unlocked door and sat down on a Sofa in the lounge before calling his wife Oripa Gapare (22).
He went on to drag her outside where he lauched a vicious attack with his okapi knife and stabbed her 27 times as she lay dying on the ground in April 2017.
Oripa screamed for help and her grandmother Hamundide Mashayamombe (91) attempted to help by dragging her away from the attack but the culprit pushed her to the ground and carried on with his knife attack. Oripa, died on the spot from the attack by Dignity. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to death by hanging. More news to follow . By Sibusiso Ngwenya
