HOW MATEBELELAND LEADERS HAVE SOLD OUT not just Matebeleland but the whole of Zimbabwe, by settling with Mugabe for personal not national interests!
Is it just me or does everyone else see the picture that is building up here? First and fore most, Lobengula reportedly traded Zimbabwe’s land and minerals for a bag of sugar with colonialist Cecil John Rhodes and since then, apart from Matebele wars, gukurahundi and other issues relating to Matebeleland wrong turns in decision making, have not only cost Matebeland but the nation as a whole
Remember Zapu was formed by Joshua Nkomo in the early sixties after NDP was banned by Smith, most of the Zanu pf senior stalwarts joined Zapu. These included the Zapu press secretary Robert Mugabe and others. . 
Zanu was formed in the sixties after many fled from Zapu and this occured at Enos Nkala’s house ]no 4449 Highfields Harare. After independance, Mugabe with the ‘blessing’ of the then Minister of home affairs Enos Mzombi Nkala butchered over 20,000 Ndebeles, attempted to murder Joshua Nkomo, and other crimes. Who remembers the famous words by Nkala who said that he was embarassed to be Ndebele and if there was a type of soap to wash off the Ndebele in him he would buy it. Enos Mzombi Nkala and Mugabe, Tekere and other Zanu pf stalwarts were there when Zanu was formed, and I’d hazard a guess and say the gukurahundi genocide was long planned back in the sixties by these guys thi is why it was swift, ruthless and ‘technically, a non event’ which is why no one has ever been prosecuted for butchering over 20 thousand Ndebele’s from Matebeleland and Midlands.
Jonathan Moyo , a Zanu pf stalwart who left Zimbabwe during the liberation struggle to guerrilla training camps on and then proceeded to study in the USA on aZanu pf ticket, is a man who claims to have lost his father to gukurahundi, while some argue that he is the son of Ndabaningi Sithole the original Zanu leader who mugabe grabbed power from, is the architect of the Tsholotsho declaration designed to remove Mugabe and replace him with Mnangagwa, the architect of AIPPA, POSA and the 70 minute video in cabinet that led to Mnangagwa’s downfall.
Phelekezela Mphoko, the long term Rainbow 5star hotel resident, a Zanu PF stalwart and CIO, publicly denied Mugabe’s involvement in gukurahundi and claimed that it was all a Western governments genocide, thereby making alaughing stock of the people of Matebeleland. Frustrated Zimbabweans, understandably nicknamed him ‘Mboko’.
Obert Mpofu is the filthy rich former Minister of mines during the diamond find. Question is, do people see how these men killed their own, cemented Mugabe’s power, enriched themselves and aided the Zanu Pf crimes and corruption, while hiding under the false claims of tribalism, yet supping with the devil, just like Dumiso Dabengwa and SK MOYO!
When anyone talks about Matebeleland politics, the names i have highlighted are key figures, past and present, who had the power and influence to make change, but did not and thats why they are regarded as sell outs.
Let the truth be told to all Zimbabweans, about the real game changers I have mentioned, all other figures are simple nobodies who held no influence, of no consequence to the nation as a whole as little is known about them beyond Shangani river, let alone locally, unlike the leaders I identified for the readers, typically leaders whose actions directly impact upon the whole nation , not just Matebeleland region and thats what the article is about,..national politics!
Its because all others leaders are insignificant leaders in national politics which is why they never changed anything about the whole nation unlike, Phelekezela Mphoko, Obert Mpofu, Jonathan Moyo, SK Moyo, Dumiso Dabengwa and Enos Nkala, who held influence over gukurahundi, chiadzwa, Tsholotsho declaration, 70minute politburo video, AIPPA and POSA, the real game changers in national politics yet did nothing for the people of Zimbabwe and thats why all other small leaders , are not worth mentioning because they literally are ‘small’ names in national politics!
Rtd Colonel Tshinga Dube another Matebeleland leader in illegal ZDF diamond mining operations in DRC was as far back in 2002 in mining operations at Kalobo in Kasai Occidental run by Dube Associates of Zimbabwe Defence Industries. Tshinga Judge Dube, a Zimbabwean politician, member of parliament for Makokoba then a member of ZANU-PF and appointed Minister of Welfare Services for War Veterans, War Collaborators and Former Political Detainees in March 2016.
People of Zimbabwe are tired of Unity accords, GNUs and other peace arrangements that serve the interests of leaders and do nothing else for the people. The people need what puts food on the table, they need schools, hospitals, water, electricity, roads, job, peace, equality, prosperity and other development for all tribes, races and parties not just their leaders as clearly happened.
Now again when the nation is pushing for unity, peace, reconcilliation and forgiveness, we have other Matebeleland leaders calling for Matebeleland to be broken off from Zimbabwe and to form a separate state. I question the logic of breaking an arid region only fit in general fro cattle ranching to break off from the rich Zimbabwe, split families, friends and others on tribal grounds at a time when we all long moved beyond the politics of tribalism because of intermarriage, diaspora movement and knowledge on how to live together peacefully from being part of the global village.
Does it make sense that from wherever one will be coming from, whether Masvingo, Midlands, or other region, one needs to produce a passport just to get to Bulawayo? Furthermore, if we allow this, what then are we saying about the rest of Matebeleland, for example the Kalangas, Venda, Tonga, Nambya, Sotho and other groups, who don’t consider themselves Ndebele? I believe they all have an equal right to declaring their corners, independant states, then what? Can we realistically imagine a Bulawayo city center as a Ndebele state then every few kilometres, one has to produce a passport to cross into the next state,..how ridiculous if you ask me. I also wonder what the idea is, marginalising other tribes like how Mugabe did it over 37 years? The people do not hold such hatred towards fellow tribes as is spewed by these divisive leaders, filled with hatred, vengeance and bent on destroying peace, unity and harmony between the people of different tribes.
The message to all Zimbabweans, is that wake up Zimbabwe, you have seen how these other Matebeleland leaders misled the people, enriched themselves and did nothing for national politics let alone their own people, just like any other politician! How do you know when a politician is lying to the people,…the answer is that as soon as apolitician opens his/her mouth they are telling lies! Wake up Zimbabwe, don’t be misled by greedy politicians bent on self enrichment while destroying your heriatge!
The people of Zimbabwe should fearlessly stand their ground and give no ear or platform to spew such divisive nonsense whether on main stream or social media. These retrogressive people can be silenced without threats, insults or hatred towards them but simple common sense across media as that has more power in reaching the people.If a site or group spews hatred, divisionalist mentality, racism, violence, terrorism,segregation, tribalism, sexist, religious hatred, gender stereotyping and other ‘isms’, quickly distance yourself from it, report it not only to Facebook, but local authorities such as police, and other sources of help, thereby protecting all our children and future generations from such filth. The less we promote such filth by distancing ourselves, blocking and decampaigning the rubbish and informing all that its not aplace to be at, the sooner we clean up the social and mainstream media. freedom of speech and association should not be interpreted to mean freedom to spew vile and dangerous material to the public. We all have a duty to stop it,..STOP IT NOW! I will always say, silence all these hate filled thugs, one Zimbabwe, one people,. no Sell outs, vatengesi, abathengisi! DISCUSS! BY Sibusiso Ngwenya.
