The Ndebele, King Lobengula’s Gold Plated Spear, Fly Whisk , Clay Pot And Artefacts Have Been Stolen

In the run up to the 2018 ballot, the Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Minister Saviour Kasukuwere, recently pledged to put in place, a total of 900 hectares of land on which to build over 20 000 houses specifically for Zanu PF youths in Bulawayo.

However, so far the 316hectare Umvutsha Farm, a place of huge Matebele Historical significance has been identified for this Zanu PF partisan surburb construction.

Mugabe’s Zanu PF has always struggled to force the militant Matebeleland region into line, which is why in the early 80s, Mugabe used his tribalist North Korean trained Fifth Brigade, to massacre at least 20 000 Ndebeles from Matebeleland and Midlands region.

To the Discerning Eye, Mugabe, a man who chalked off the gukurahundi massacres to ‘A moment of madness’ and has failed to apologise or compensate victims, is obviously unrolling the final stages of the subjugation of Matebeleland, which started off with gukurahundi, through butchering 20, 000 anti Zanu PF then replacing them with 20,000 Zanu PF partisan youths,…now thats compensation!

The rape and pillaging of Umvutsha farm through Zanu PF construction, obviously falls in line with destroying Matebeleland history, and now this theft of Lobengula’s spear and artefacts of such great historical significance, is typically, a subjugation of the people in play.
It is  reported that a gold coated spear and some artefacts including a 45CM black fly whisk and a small brown clay pot which was owned by  the last Ndebele King, Lobengula, were stolen from the Old Bulawayo site where they were under the care of National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe (NMMZ)  .
National police spokesperson Charity Charamba  announced that the police are investigating the theft.
Mugabe and his Zanu PF obviously have played a role in the theft of the Spear and artefacts belonging to the Ndebele King. Its a simple game of destroying, their history, culture identity and crush their significance by breaking up their unity.

World wide, this standard procedure in political wars of dominance, or religions destroying others in order to ramp up their own significance, case in point is the recently introduced Zanu PF, Schools national pledge.

Pupils must recite the following pledge of allegiance:

“Almighty God, in whose hands our future lies, I salute the national flag, I commit to honesty and dignity of hard work.” Junior and secondary schools pupils will be expected to recite the pledge of allegiance saying:

“Almighty God, in whose hands our future lies, I salute the national flag. United in our diversity by our common desire for freedom, justice and equality. Respecting the brave fathers and mothers who lost lives in the Chimurenga/ Umvukela and national liberation struggles.

“We’re proud inheritors of the richness of our natural resources. We’re proud creators and participants in our vibrant traditions and cultures. We commit to honesty and the dignity of hard work”.

Zimbabwe, is traditionally a Christian nation, but without hesitation or consultation, Mugabe is destroying religion in the name of Zanu PF’s, Schools national pledge. Mugabe and his Zanu PF stalwarts are slowly but surely destroying people’s history, religion and political allegiance in order to gain relevance at a time when they, to most people, have out lived their use and are way past their sell by date.

This culture of denying the past, is typical of Mugabe and his Zanu PF as already seen in the case of the former British Colony, Rhodesia, where we have seen Zanu PF destroy all remnants of the British, even attempting to dig up Cecil John Rhodes grave and repatriate his remains back to Britain.
This negative attitude, inevitably destroyed, a vibrant agriculture, once the back bone of Zimbabwe’s economy through the murderous,  racist white farmer eviction.
We cannot deny or destroy our own history in the hope that it will wipe away any part of our history, no matter how painfull it could have been.  All history is part of all our people, an identity and a guaranteed source of much needed income for a progressive government.
At the rate Zimbabwe is destroying such places of historical significance, it wont be long before someone comes up with a  crazy plan to destroy Great Zimbabwe ruins, or Mugabe’s Zvimba homestead once he dies.
It is not a mistake that Mugabe and his Zanu PF have gone to such great lengths to destroy the Matebele people, and hope and pray that gukurahundi will soon blow over and be forgotten without any form of truth and reconciliation, apology, compensation, unity building and moving one people forward to a brighter, prosperous and just future.

What the nation needs, is a political leadership that unites all tribes, races, religions and builds respect, equality and tolerance of all opposition.
Mugabe and his Zanu PF are the most detrimental aspects to any hope of escaping the current political impasse. Mugabe , Zim1 family, Zanu PF stalwarts and Securocrats must all go! By Sibusiso Ngwenya
