#ShutdownZimbabwe has called for protest set for 8 March 2018 to push for President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputies Kembo Mohadi and Constantino Chiwenga to go for failing to meet their target of reviving the economy within 100 days has been called for.

This will be an interesting street protest by the people if enough support is gathered for it. Read between the lines, people of Zimbabwe. Mnangagwa knows that his Zanu pf regime, is considered an illegitimate government because it came about as a result of a coup.

Mnangagwa seeks International approval of his government and a people’s vote to legitimise the coup then he along with the militarised Zanu pf regime can lead Zimbabwe with no objections.

He knows part of that accreditation arises from the existence of democracy, the right to protest, speak out and freedom of choice and asociation therefore as long as the people are peaceful like during the removal of Mugabe, the police, army and CIO will be kept at bay so that Mnangagwa can say to the whole world, ..look Zimbabwe is a free country now and people can do what they want.

This protest can actually be a massive advantage to Mnangagwa because if handled in that manner, Mnangagwa will be able to attract more foreign support and financial aid, while re engaging with the global village and people of Zimbabwe will actually see progress under Mnangagwa as compared to fractured fueding opposition. the lesson for all Zimbabweans is that, unlike in opposition, Zanu pf will always fight amongst themselves but when it comes to an election, they unite and fight the enemy together.
