ZIMBABWE BACKS DOWN ON RETIRING 30 senior officers from the rank of senior assistant commissioner and above, and reduces the number to be retired to only 11.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) had retired 30 senior officers from the rank of senior assistant commissioner and above, as part of moves to transform the force and sent the nation into a frenzy of excitement but it has now come to our attention that most retirement letters have been rescinded leaving only 11 senior officers to be retired. The Home Affairs Minister Obert Mpofu has distanced himself from the developm ents saying its all done by the Public Service Commission. More news to follow. By Sibusiso Ngwenya
