‘Dr Gucci Grace Mugabe’s Doctorate in Philosophy from the Faculty of Social Studies in September 2014 supposedly attained from the University of Zimbabwe, is set to be exposed as a fake.
The issue came to light after University lecturers placed a formal complaint about there being no credible record of her study at the institution.
When the former first Lady, Grace was awarded the bogus degree , her husband, the deposed former President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe was the chancellor of all state universities in Zimbabwe.
It is stated that the University of Zimbabwe Sociology Department board are unaware of grace Mugabe’s study proposal, progress reports, thesis, examiners and outcome.
The UZ vice-chancellor Levi Nyagura and UZ lecturer Professor Claude Mararike, allegedly one of Grace Mugabe’s supervisors, are on target to be arrested by Zacc shortly accused of abuse of office over the dubious doctrate award to Grace Mugabe after the UZ Sociology Department submitted a petition to Zacc, demanding an investigation into the doctrate.
Unlike former vice president Joyce Mujuru’s doctrate, Grace’s thesis is not yet in the public domain, so long after graduation, now three years . Joice Mujuru, graduated on the same day with Grace Mugabe , and she made theses publicly available.
UZ Sociology department lecturers were alarmed when grace Mugabe was conferred with a Doctrate degree and in their petition to Zacc, the lecturers called for the revocation, nullification and withdrawal of Motor mouth ‘Dr Gucci Grace’s doctorate by the University of Zimbabwe.
They also demanded that a full investigation should be instituted by the authorities into the obvious abuse of office, corruption and other maladministration practices that have totally undermined the University of Zimbabwe’s integrity, progress, public and international standing.
