www.newzimbabwevision.com has received news that Richard Morgan Tsvangirai, Zimbabwe’s opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader, who being treated at a Johannesburg South Africa hospital., has died. Funeral arrangements will be published soon.

www.newzimbabwevision.com, are sorry to see a great hero of Zimbabwe’s freedom from oppression by the deposed former president Robert Mugabe. He is a former Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) leader who formed the original MDC party in 1999 and led the people of Zimbabwe into a two decade fight for democracy against Robert Mugabe.

Tsvangirai became the true face of freedom for Zimbabweans because he originally united people from 1999 after he stood up against Mugabe in the 2000 elections, where people were happy to support his bravery, People were ready to vote for Tsvangirai or even a lamp post, tree, baboon or street light instead of Mugabe just to free themselves of oppression.

Tsvangirai, for his bravery and mass support, suffered severe and painful losses including the death of his former wife after a staged accident by Mugabe, injuries and hospitalisation, torture, imprisonment, forced exile and other untold pain.

It was good of the new Zimbabwe regime under Mnangagwa and Chiwenga to offer to foot his hefty hospital bills, and settle his pension to alleviate his suffering recently. We would however encourage Mnagagwa to go a step further into uniting the nation by declaring Tsvangirai , a National Hero, giving a state funeral and burial at the National Heroes acre in Harare. National Heroes acre is not a Zanu pf asset and should be a place for those who deserve such recognition by the public. Such an action by Mnangagwa will be great for his political credibility to both Zimbabweans and the global world and if anything at all could be the real game changer that settles the outcome or ensures his victory, because at the moment, MDC T are not united, confused and have nothing to offer the people. Its true to say that Mnangagwa is pushing forward an (MDC T) agenda of unity, democracy, free and fair elections, simply all that the people have been clamouring for.

GOVERNMENT has asked the Zimbabwean Embassy in Pretoria South Africa to assist theMDC T leader Richard Morgan Tsvangirai’s family in, including covering costs of the body handling while the Zimbabwe Government , prepares to make official statements, according to the Secretary for Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Mr George Charamba.

This follows the President Mnangagwa and Vice President General Constantino Chiwenga (Retired) visit to Richard Morgan Tsvangirai at his Highlands home on January 5 where they spent 45 minutes in discussion with Tsvangirai who had freely disclosed his illness as cancer of the colon on June 27, 2016

Cancer is Zimbabwes second biggest killer after HIV and Aids, annually. Today the real founder of post-independence democracy and social justice, whose defiance to deposed former President Robert Mugabe’s oppressive authority, established a multi-party democracy, MDC T leader Richard Morgan Tsvangirai is no more, after succumbing to cancer at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre in Johannesburg South Africa at around 5pm.

The death of the former trade unionist (ZCTU) leader is a huge national loss, coming at atime we are heading for the all expected big elections in 2018, yet MDC-T is on the verge of splitting like Zanu pf because of infighting as different factions jostle for leading the party. The MDC T factions are centred around the elected coVice president Ndebele woman, Dr Thokozani Khuphe, unlected, personal choice of Tsvangirai co-vice president Advocate Nelson Chamisa and Eng Mudzuri, battling to succeed Tsvangirai.

The MDC T battles have become so vicious that Eng Mudzuri who was due to hold a meeting yesterday was barred from the MDC T Harvest House Head Quaters in Harare by Adv Nelson Chamisa loyalists.

The situation was even worsened by mebers of Tsvangirai’s family who dispossesed him of his passport in South Africa to stop him travelling back to Zimbabwe, where other family mebers were already grabbing property from his Highlands home as his situation deteriorated. The family in South Africa were barring his wife Elizabeth from seeing him, so he obviously died a sad and unhappy man because of his own family and Zanu pf, out in the wilderness, but he is no more,..the giant of democracy has fallen!

The political dispensation in the Southern African region has dramatically changed in just 90 days with the forced resignation of Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe 90 days ago, the forced resignation of South Africa’s president Jacob Zuma today and the death of an icon of democracy, Zimbabwe’s MDCT opposition leader Richard Morgan Tsvangirai today whilst undergoing caqncer treatment in a Johannesburg South Africa hospital. Its true to say in Zimbabwe in particular, politics has lost its appeal to the reader after the loss of Tsvangirai and fall of Mugabe and subsequent elevation of Mnangwagwa and Chiwenga relatively insignificant figures in media publicity….INTERESTING!
